Hi, I'm Jordan

Hi, I'm Jordan

The developer here at Venture Web Solutions — the one writing the code, optimising the performance, and obsessing over the tiny details that make a website feel fast, smooth, and reliable.

I grew up in Yorkshire, studied physics, fell in love with software development, and eventually discovered that building websites sits perfectly at the intersection of logic, creativity, and problem-solving. These days, I spend my time turning design ideas into clean, efficient code and making sure your website loads as fast as possible.

If you’re working with us, I’ll be the one you chat to about functionality, performance, and anything technical you’d like to understand (in plain English, of course).

What’s your favourite part of building websites?

Honestly, writing the code itself — in particular, keeping it clean and well-organised so that it’s easy to read and change when needed. Sounds boring but I love it!

Why’d you switch from astrophysics to building websites?

I got tired of being a student, and it’s not as romantic as it sounds anyway — it’s mostly about solving algebra, not looking through telescopes as I’d imagined! I learned programming as part of my degree, although I didn’t take to it right away. It did eventually click for me though, and at that point I fell in love with it. Later, I had to decide whether to continue on as a student and pursue a PhD, or change direction and pursue a career in coding. Well, I chose the latter, and here we are!

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I used to love playing rugby, but unfortunately I haven’t played for a while now (I’m dying to get back into it though!). These days, it’s more about spending time with Daniela — discovering new places, trying new restaurants, going to the cinema, etc. I also recently got a motorbike, and I can’t wait to go touring on it with Daniela (when the weather picks up!).

What’s your favourite place you’ve travelled to?

It’d have to be Athens, where I met Daniela. I love Ancient Greek mythology, and of course meeting Daniela there changed my life forever, so Athens will always have a special place in my heart.
